Best Practices & Compliance

The Do’s and Don’ts of Selling on Myntra

Myntra enforces strict quality guidelines. Violations trigger catalogue blacklisting, SLA breach financial penalties, or account suspension.

Essential Best Practices (DO's)

Ensure high conversion & flawless account health
  • 01
Strict 1500×2000px Image Resolution:Shoot against a pure white or neutral grey background. Include front, back, side, closeup of fabric texture, and care label.
  • 02
Standard Indian Body Size Measurement Charts:Provide precise chest, waist, hip, and length measurements in inches. 65% of apparel returns are caused by incorrect sizing expectations.
  • 03
Ship Orders Within Strict 24-Hour SLA:Maintain a 99.5%+ on-time dispatch rate to unlock tier boosts and eligibility for Myntra Express Delivery.
  • 04
Maintain Current Bank Account Matching GST Name:Ensure registered entity name on bank statement matches your GSTIN and incorporation certificates word-for-word.
  • 05
Monitor Partner Insights (PI) Weekly:Track SKU-level return reasons (fit, color difference, quality) and quickly update descriptions to curb reverse logistics bleeding.

Critical Pitfalls to Avoid (DON'Ts)

Avoid rejection, penalties & account blacklisting
  • 01
Never Submit Savings Account Details:Myntra strictly rejects personal savings accounts. Only Current Accounts under the official business entity are approved.
  • 02
Never Mismatch GST State and Pickup PIN Code:If your GST is registered in Maharashtra, your warehouse pickup address cannot be in Karnataka without an added Principal Place of Business (PPOB).
  • 03
Avoid Ghost Inventory / Out-of-Stock Cancellations:Seller-side order cancellations carry hefty financial penalties (up to ₹300 per cancelled order) and degrade account health score.
  • 04
Never Upload Flat-Lay / Mannequin Apparel Photos:Myntra requires professional real model photography for western and ethnic apparel. Flat lay shots get rejected at QC stage.
  • 05
Don't Sell Trademarked Goods Without Formal NOC:Selling branded apparel without an active Trademark (TM/®) certificate or signed Brand Authorization NOC leads to immediate delisting.

3. How to Reduce Returns on Myntra from 30% to 15%

1. Model Size Disclosures

Explicitly state: "Model height is 5'9'' wearing size S". This sets accurate visual context on length and drape.

2. Fabric Transparency

Avoid vague terms like "Cotton blend". Specify "70% Cotton, 30% Linen with Pre-Shrunk Finish" to prevent fabric disappointment.

3. Reinforced Tamper-Evident Tape

Use high-micron branded polybags and security seal tapes to eliminate transit tears and false customer damage claims.
